What to expect and how you'll make an impact
Whether you’re looking to teach English abroad for the first time or teach abroad without a degree, Tanzania Projects (TP) has more than 10 years’ experience running the volunteer Teaching programs.
TP's popular volunteer Teaching programs are available across a range of settings, including schools, tutoring projects, community centers, special needs facilities and childcare centers. With TP, volunteer teachers have the opportunity to give classes alongside qualified teachers, other volunteers and independently.
Working side-by-side with students and teachers from different cultures, TP volunteers foster an invaluable two-way exchange, building cross-cultural understanding and global awareness within themselves and their students. Volunteer requirements

Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or friend who is over 18 to participate in this program

Volunteers aged 16-18 are required to provide TP with parental consent in order to participate on the program independently, and may be asked to provide additional documentation to the local team

All volunteers are required to provide a criminal background check to TP prior to departure, or if aged under 18 need to provide two character reference letters instead

All volunteers are required to have adequate volunteer travel insurance

All volunteers must speak fluent English.
Your Stay
We provide safe, clean and comfortable accommodation, comfortable bedding, excellent breakfast and dinner and housekeeping. This will be a quiet and friendly neighbourhood only 15 minutes from the main hustle and bustle of town. You will have 24 hour gated security, a domestic/cook (who will happily do your laundry for a small fee) and a coordinator who will ensure you settle in quickly and comfortably into your new town. This is a shared home where you will be staying with other volunteers and guests from across the world, so you will never be on your own in your new environment. The house is impeccably clean, well kept, modern and spacious.
How will you get around?
For your placement, you will travel like a local and walk or take public transport. You will need to set a small budget aside for this (around $1 per day by local minibuses, 4 to 5 days per week). It is important you are prepared and comfortable to travel around town, this is a demanding role that requires dedication.
